  1. Kaitlin-

I commented on your post concerning your Rockin' Robin clean-up strategy. It is similar to ideas Rich Allen and I wrote about in our book, The Rock 'N' Roll Classroom: Using Music to Manage Mood, Energy, and Learning (Corwin 2012). I am now working on a website that will be an extension of our book, and I'm looking for teacher-tested ideas such as yours to include on the site. Would you be interested in giving me permission to use it on my site (when up and running)? We could link to each other's site that way, which might increase traffic for each of us. Let me know what you think.

    1. Willy,
I'm glad you found the Rockin' Robin idea helpful! As long as you credit this site and provide a link back to it, you are more than welcome to use the ideas from that post. Your book sounds like something every teacher could benefit from and I look forward to checking it out. Good luck as you work on setting up your site! I know that can be a bit of a long- but rewarding- process :)

    2. I loved your rocking robin clean up song. I might change it slightly by using it at clean up time. Instead of me singing the clean up song,(children always want to talk to me when I am singing, could it be my voice?) we could play the song and they will know when they have to be finished.

    3. That's a fun little twist on it :) If you had a microphone with your computer, you could always just record it right to the desktop and click it whenever you wanted to do a quick clean.

  2. I'm interested in the clean up songs but I haven't ever heard them so I don't know if I want to invest in buying them for my classroom. Any solutions?

    1. I just picked Rockin' Robin since it was a fun little song I had on a cd already in my classroom, but you could really just pick any song to use during the clean up time. Just make sure it's around the length you want. If you don't have any songs on cd or in itunes already, you could always use a song on Spotify (they have almost any song for free there, as long as you have a free Spotify account)... or you could simply just sing a silly song as a class while you clean up. The main idea is to make it quick and fun so that your students look forward to doing it again and again.
